HOPE’s School Holiday activity – a big thank you to all involved!

During the school holidays from December through to the very end of January, the street outreach team worked hard providing outreach services across Kwinana, Armadale, Gosnells and Leederville. What was normally an 8 hour service per week across 2 locations quickly turned into a 35 hour per week service across 5 different locations in an effort to collaborate with other youth services, local councils and Police for the school holidays. Activities included the Thornlie night’s series at Thornlie Skate Park, a presence in the Jull Street Mall Armadale, outreach at the Memorial Park in Armadale, a Multi-sports day event in Gwynne Park Armadale and Roleystone Skate Park, a Street Ball event at the Edge skate park in Kwinana and outreach in the Entertainment precinct in Leederville.

A huge thank you to the youth teams at the City of Kwinana, City of Gosnells and City of Armadale and many other services that collaborated for these events for being so open and welcoming to the HOPE team and a HUGE thank you to the tireless efforts of the street outreach team (many of which are volunteers) that showed up and assisted and made all of this happen.

From these collaborations we have made many connections and there is plenty of talk about future collaborations and working relationships to look forward to for some really meaningful outreach in our community.
